À L’OUEST
New album by the trio Les Incendiaires !
Les Incendiaires, a brass trio from ARFI, return with À l'Ouest, an audacious repertoire in which they reinterpret the famous compositions of Ennio Morricone for Sergio Leone's films.
Comprising Olivier Bost (trombone, percussion), Guillaume Grenard (trumpet, euphonium, percussion), and Eric Vagnon (saxophones, percussion), the trio embarks on a musical exploration where minimal instrumentation breathes new life into classics like The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly or For a Fistful of Dollars.
Armed solely with their wind instruments and makeshift percussion, they transform the sonic landscapes of the Western genre into an imaginative journey, paying tribute to Morricone's iconoclastic approach. Far from clichés, À l'Ouest seeks to capture the very essence of its composer, a subtle alchemy between lyricism and sonic experimentation.
The rearrangements, while staying faithful to Morricone's rich writing, manage to restore its depth with the simplicity of a trio, defying the vast orchestras he used.
Through this new album, Les Incendiaires continue their pursuit of musical originality while furthering ARFI's work in cinematic exploration.
