L'Effet Vapeur presents a new repertoire titled "Ring." "Rrrring," like the sound, the ring, or the wrestling ring, where things heat up, bubble, and get wild! Riiiiing! Objects, instruments, machines, everything makes noise.
Aimed at all audiences, "Ring" is a hive of acrobats who bubble, twist, and take off. It’s a blend that straddles the line between acoustics and machinery. The performance introduces sound creators and a wind section drawing inspiration from traditional, rock, contemporary, electronic, and noise music.
With eyes and ears wide open, one is drawn in by the many repurposed objects from Alfred Spirli's instrument collection, the band's drummer. Dalí’s voice fits perfectly under the skillful fingers of Xavier Garcia, who manipulates the samples and his chimera-like instruments. Meanwhile, Guillaume Grenard and Jean-Paul Autin, the wind players, sprinkle humor and provocation into this harmonic core.
