Guillaume Grenard
Trumpet, Electric bass, euphonium, bugle, Concert flute, percussions
Guillaume is one of the angriest trumpet players of his generation for not being considered one of the most gifted trumpet players of his generation. However, he tends to be kinder when playing the euphonium, probably due to humility. As for the flute or electric bass, he hasn’t yet quite chosen his character trait, likely due to a lack of conviction.
His moral integrity and infallibility make him the ideal leader for large-scale projects, those that bring together all the human and aesthetic components of our collective, and that remind us of ARFI's raison d'être.
His great strength is to put the listener face to face with a fait accompli – his music, also fully accomplished. His mastery of the instrument and his sharp compositions serve as the vectors for the sensitivity he delivers each time, in full measure, without evasions or delays, with the ethics of a sincere and complete message.
Guillaume leaves no room for disputes; he only envisions solutions. That’s why he always sees improvisation as an infinite source of legitimate propositions. It is in this domain that he can finally relax, forget about Excel spreadsheets, the burden of collective inertia, and the competition among the most gifted trumpet players of his generation.
Within ARFI, few projects can do without his contributions, which is why he can be found in La Marmite Infernale, Les Incendiaires, Indolphylités, L'Effet Vapeur, Bululú, in a duo with X. Garcia, as the creator of the cine-concert Nosferatu, and in the show La Ferme des animaux. In the past, he’s been heard in Chant Bien Fatal, Darkpoe, Babel Orkestra, and M. Méliès et Géo Smile.
Additionally, he is very helpful within the collective l'Arbre Canapas and in the quartet Jeuselou du Dimanche.
