Four trombones, four composers, four universes. This could be "the good, the bad, and the ugly" with "the scoundrel" added in. But there are no killers in this quartet made entirely of pipes. Far from the demonstration and the virtuosity that usually justifies it, the four rascals make the trombone sound as though it's embodying a mindset.
Playful, improvised, harmonized, twisted, and sometimes rejected in every sense of the word, the music – an obvious excuse for the (re)formation of this group – has rumbling and melodic accents, wet and abrasive tones, official and disheveled... As you might have guessed, they sometimes even indulge in a little bit of fine craftsmanship!
